The Guilford Gazette provides three products designed to serve Guilford, Jessup, Kings Contrivance, and Savage in
eastern Howard County, Maryland. Our newspaper; e-news, and website provide news and information that relates
directly to the community.
The Guilford Gazette endeavors to distinguish itself from other local and regional news media in the Baltimore and
Washington, DC metropolitan areas. We serve our readers with news that is not only informative, but tailored to meet the
specific needs of our constituency.
Our circulation area has a rich and diverse history starting with Guilford, Jessup, and Savage - communities that date
back hundreds of years. Later came Kings Contrivance one of the villages of Columbia, a planned city developed late in
the 20th century.
The Guilford Gazette is NEWS and INFORMATION. We don't just sell newspapers. We develop human interest stories
that uplift. We are a news group that says "thanks" for your good work. Residents and workers fall under the spell of our
weekly spotlight where we highlight simple good deeds and spectacular achievement. We do the hard news too. At
Guilford Gazette all politics are truly local. We focus on the elected officials and candidates in our area so that voters go
to the voting booth or the public hearing fully armed with the real facts.
Our public schools are a major focus at Guilford Gazette. We follow education, teachers, students, administrators,
theater, and sports at the one high school that serves all of Guilford - Hammond High School. But we do not stop there.
We go deep to bring the community news of Bollman Bridge Elementary School, Guilford Elementary School, Lake
Elkhorn Middle School, and Patuxent Valley Middle School. We have a strong readership among the mothers of
school-aged children; and we are building a devoted following among those who enjoy our impartial political coverage
and hard news.
