Effective immediately, Mr. Frank Eastham, retired Chief Officer of School Management and Instructional Leadership for the Howard County Public School System will lead the overall operations and Christian ministries at Bridgeway Community Church, a non-denominational, multicultural Christian church started by Dr. David Anderson, over twenty years ago in Columbia, Maryland. Dr. Anderson, renowned author, diversity consultant on race relations, and daily radio talk show host, will remain the Senior Pastor and CEO, while Eastham will tend to the culture and organizational development of the 5000 congregant church.
The former Executive Pastor, Rev. Dave Michener, will relinquish his post as the Executive Pastor to take on his new and exciting assignment as Bridgeway’s new campus pastor at the recently opened Bridgeway location in Owings Mills/Reisterstown, Maryland, which opened this past spring. Pastor Michener said, “Bridgeway is one church in multiple locations and I am so excited to grow this beautifully multicultural church in the Baltimore County area.” With over 300 worshipers already, Bridgeway has opened its doors at 11301 Red Run Blvd in Owings Mills. Services are at 10:30am.
As the church expands and the culture around us continues to be fractured by issues of race and ethnic divisions, Eastham has a tremendous amount of experience building bridges and connections to help ease the tensions. “As a member of the Human Rights Commission and principal of one of the most diverse schools in Howard County for nine years, I have seen firsthand how important it is for us to build cross-cultural connections in order for there to be unity in our communities”, Eastham says.
Dr. Anderson couldn’t be happier about Eastham’s appointment. “Frank has done an amazing job as a principal and public school administrator in our county for years. He knows how to lead. I have traveled with Frank around the world and have worked with him within our church as a volunteer leader for over twenty years. He is trustworthy, skilled, and culturally proficient. Our staff and our community are blessed to have him”, Anderson said.
