Howard County police have identified the pedestrian injured in an overnight collision as Anthony Lamont Washington, 47, of no fixed address.
Washington remains in critical condition at Shock Trauma.
Just after 11 p.m., he was attempting to cross Route 175 just east of Dobbin Road in Columbia when he was struck by a 2006 Subaru Impreza traveling westbound.
The driver, Norma Gabriela Altuzar Coello, 48, of Columbia, remained at the scene. She was not injured. No charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing.
