Letter to Parents from Principal Jonathan Davis
Dear Guilford Families,
This afternoon the Howard County Board of Education was informed of my transfer to Cradlerock Elementary School, effective July 1, 2019. I have enjoyed the past four years being the principal at Guilford. Guilford is such a unique community and I have enjoyed every minute of my time serving the Guilford community. You welcomed me with open arms and I’ve appreciated getting to know you and your families. It’s been great seeing your children grow, academically and socially; watching them collaborate, stay engaged in their learning, and to persevere throughout the day. I’ve enjoyed seeing them turn and talk, enjoyed watching them learning to read, and watching them build a true community during our circle times. Thank you for this great opportunity.
Please allow me to welcome and introduce Mr. Justin Fitzgerald as the new principal at Guilford. Mr. Fitzgerald is an outstanding principal that I’ve gotten to know over the past nine years. He has been the principal at Bond Mill Elementary School in Prince George’s county for the past 15 years. In talking with Mr. Fitzgerald he is excited to become part of the Guilford community. He and I will be working collaboratively over the next several days to ensure that a smooth transition takes place.
Looking ahead, there will be opportunities for parents and students to meet Mr. Fitzgerald. Be on the lookout for additional communications soon introducing himself and sharing details about meeting with the school community.
