Savage Fest 2019 was a fun event for vendor and festival visitors. The Guilford Gazette attended this year’s event in historic Savage, Maryland, but we did not specifically cover the event with reporters and photographers.
The Guilford Gazette sponsored two booths at the festival. One booth featured Caricatures by Rick Wright. The photo illustrates the work of the artist. Volunteers from a nearby booth established to raise funds for school lunch debt incurred by students attending schools located in Savage, took time away from their pressing duties to sit for the caricature artist.
The Guilford Gazette offered the free caricature event to bring some added fun and create long-lasting memories of the 2019 Festival and the Guilford Gazette.
Our other booth was informational. We handed out materials, newspapers, and free ink pens to passersby and chatted with anyone interested to learn more about hyper-local newspaper venture, covering Savage, Kings Contrivance, North Laurel, Jessup, and Guilford.
The festival was held on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
