ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will be joined by Maryland Secretary of Aging Carmel Roques, Howard County Councilmembers Deb Jung and Christiana Rigby, and other federal, state and local officials, and community members to celebrate the grand opening of Howard County’s new East Columbia 50+ Center.
“Our Department of Community Resources and Services 2015 Master Plan, identified our East Columbia 50+ Center as one of its top priority projects,” said Ball. “In 2022, we broke ground on this long-awaited 50+ Center in East Columbia, where 40 percent of Howard County’s older adults reside. Now complete, this new, state-of-the art 29,000 square foot, freestanding facility celebrates our collective commitment to provide the best services and facilities for our residents of all ages.”
