Based on social media chatter on NextDoor and elsewhere, Howard County residents are sounding the alarm that crime is out-of-hand in a county known regionally and nationally for being one of the best places to live, having a very low crime rate.

Residents have voiced concerns that car thefts and thefts from vehicles are rising. A group in Elkridge recently met with Howard County State’s Attorney to discuss their fears regarding an increase in criminal activity in that area.
