History

The Guilford Mill Dam was first built by 1744 and was the focus of many deeds and leases throughout the years starting in 1761 . It was washed away by winter flooding in March 1888 but remarkably an intact 100 foot section of the dam remains on the south side of the Little Patuxent River. (Photo by Stephen Mangiulli)
